What is preserved flower?

What is preserved flower? What does “preserved” mean? What’s the difference between dried flower and preserved flower? Are preserved flowers fake? Have you ever had questions about preserved flower? Today, I’m going to answer all these question marks in your head.

When talking about preserved flower, we mean real flower. Yes, I mean it, preserved flower is real flower. The term “preserve” or “preservation” describes the complicated procedures florists using to keep the fresh flowers last longer. Preserved flowers are a perfect option for long-lasting, beautiful arrangements without using silks. Each flower undergoes a special and intricate process to preserve the quality and integrity of the petals which are then dyed with rich and outstanding colors. In other words, preserved flower is made of fresh and natural flower. So, it is obvious that preserved flower is totally different from silk flower and artificial flower in the market, the latter ones are 100% man-made fake flower.

Now you might think of dried flower. Although dried flower can also last for years as well, it doesn’t have the fresh, soft and natural appearance as preserved flower does. As mentioned before, the preservation process, which makes flower keep its soft petals and vivid looking, does a great job in maintain the quality and integrity of the petals. You can simply distinguish dried flower and preserved flower by touching them. Those soft ones are preserved flowers, and those shriveled ones are dried flower.

Thanks to its natural beauty and long lasting feature, preserved flower becomes popular in making table centerpieces, flower arrangement, home decoration, wedding decoration, etc. If you are interested in knowing more about preserved flower, just visit http://www.rosestory.us for more.

A Love Story with White Rose

White Rose Gift Box

For centuries, people view white rose as a symbol of purity and innocence. With the elegant appearance and meanings, white rose has been used as wedding flower and bridal boutique throughout the history. Husband would love to choose white roses as a anniversary gift or birthday gift for their wives. Besides purity and innocence, white rose also has the meaning of strong resistance. If you want to show your encouragement or cherish to your friends or families, white rose is a good choice as well.

It was couple days ago, we received an email from one of our customers sharing about a touching story between him and his daughter.  He adopted his daughter when she was a baby. Ever since then, the little girl suffered a lot physical pain. But he never gave up on her. When the little girl suffered with illness, he always tells her to be strong. The little girl loves white rose, so every time he saw white rose, he would buy her one.

Even though he didn’t talk too much in the email, but we can feel how much he loves his precious little daughter-the excitement when he finds our products and the eagerness to show his daughter her favorite flower. We cherish mother’s love all the time, writing songs, poems about how great it is. However, it is easy to forget how much love our dads give to us. Dad’s  love is just like the white rose, plain appearance with strong power inside.

Love & Preserved Rose

When the flames of war raged to a small town in the southern Europe, an infatuated couple was about to part. The boy was so brave and determined that he was going to join the battle to defend his hometown and family. Both of them knew that once the boy left, he might never return home just like their fathers and brothers. The boy left the girl with dewy roses just picked from the garden and a letter sealed with red wax. As agreed, the girl did not open the letter until the boy was completely out of sight. He wrote to her that when the last petal of these roses withered, it was time for her to forget him and embark on a new life.

With the spreading of war flames, the bloody news kept pouring in. Like reading the girl’s mind, those roses had long lost their dewdrops, their freshness, and even its rich fragrance. The girl, however, had not heard anything from the boy. Amazingly, the roses in the vase never shed a single petal. Eventually, the exhausted boy returned in triumph at the girl’s front door in one early morning, with his scarred body covered by coat armor. Since then, they lived together for the rest of their lives and never parted. And the bouquet of those dried roses was forever preserved.

Therefore, the romantic story of this fortunate couple is always on the lips of people. Today in Europe, when a boy and a girl fall in love, they will keep a bouquet of roses. They will either put the petals in the Bible or make them into preserved flowers, praying that they could be as fortunate and happy as the couple till the end of their lives.

When people asking why I choose to work on preserved roses, I would always share this beautiful story with them. The answer is quite simple, it’s all because of love. If you want to express your love, and would love to send your lovers with something special and meaningful, visit us at http://www.rosestory.us. So, another Monday comes, we hope you all enjoy every minute of the day so far.

Rose colors and meanings (continued)

To continue the previous topic about rose colors and meanings, I would like to share 4 more rose colors and meaning in this blog.
The group of purple roses contains the colors connected with lilac, blue, plum and lavender. The colors are often pastel in the wild. The purple rose was first bred during the early 1800s, as a crossbreed of the common European rose along with a selection of roses brought in from China.
The most widespread meaning of the purple rose is enthrallment, especially at first sight. Opulence, glory and majesty are some other interpretations given to the purple rose. Purple being a color of elegance and grandeur, it only fits that the rose also pays tribute to these characteristics. Purple rose is perfect for many occasions, such as mother’s birthday, grandma’s birthday, anniversaries, etc.
Most rose historians agree that the green rose first appeared as early as 1743, but it wasn’t until the mid-19th century that the rose began to attract attention in England and elsewhere around the world. In 1856, the U.K. firm of Bembridge & Harrison offered a unique green rose for sale.
The official name of the green rose is “rosa chinensis viridiflora,” but it is also referred to as the China rose. Speculation has it that the China green rose evolved from the “Slater’s Crimson China,” though there seems to be no substantial proof of this. Most Rosarians (rose experts) believe the green rose actually emerged in Georgia or South Carolina. In 1849, a Philadelphia nurseryman named Robert Buist was known to have the rosa viridiflora in his nursery inventory. He was reported to have first acquired cuttings of the green rose in Charleston years before in 1833.
The most significant and popular meaning of the green rose is fertility. Green rose also symbolizes self-respect and well-being. The green rose also signifies the constant rejuvenation of spirit, and is therefore a messenger of cheerfulness. If you are going to a baby shower, housewarming party or visit patient, green rose is a great choice.

Black roses are often featured in fiction with many different meanings and titles such as Black Velvet Rose, Black Magic, Barkarole, Black Beauty Tuscany Superb, Black Jade, and more. The flowers commonly called “black” are actually very dark shades of red, purple, or maroon.

The magic of black flowers has attracted our attention for centuries. Black roses appear to originate from a fairytale-world. Their improbable and “unnatural” color inspires a powerful feeling of mystical expectation.

The color black has always been synonymous with death and mourning. It is thus the color of sadness and farewell. So, many people consider black roses to symbolize bereavement, loss and mortality. A single black rose might be sent by a close friend and/or loved one leaving for a war or on a journey from which he did not expect to return. But, a more positive meaning does exist for the black rose. It can also be the beginning of new things, a journey into unexplored territory. Black roses are also good for Halloween, a fitting addition to the decorations along with black candles, black clothes, and so on.

It was only around the turn of the 20th century that rose cultivators began experimenting with crossing the yellow rose with the red. Suddenly, there was a whole new rose meaning on the scene. Blending the friendly associations of the yellow rose with the true-love implications of the red enabled a much subtler, intriguing suggestion of love emerging from friendship— dangerous stuff! Thankfully, the orange rose has absorbed other suggestions over time and it’s now appropriate for any enthusiastic message, whether of love, thanks, friendship or congratulations.
One meaning of the orange rose is fascination. When you are totally besotted and completely bewitched by somebody, send them an orange rose. Enthusiasm and unlimited energy are some other meanings of the orange rose. When new ventures begin, the beginning of a journey – the orange rose celebrates all new beginnings.

Rose Colors & Meanings

For over centuries, roses have been the symbol of love. No matter it’s Valentine’s Day or anniversaries, people love to express their love with rose. When it comes to the word “rose”, most people would think about red rose. However, there are so many different colorful roses in the world, and each color represents different meaning. I hope the following guide of rose colors and meanings will give you more options when choosing roses for your loved ones next time.

The red rose began its illustrious symbolic history in Greek and Roman iconography, where it was tied to Aphrodite, or Venus, the goddess of love. Later, in early Christian times, it became associated with the virtue of the Virgin Mary. By the time of Shakespeare, it had already become a poetic standard that he, and later Gertrude Stein both famously played with.
Through the long and storied history, the bright red rose still reigns as the ultimate symbol of romantic and love, which is perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, wedding proposal. Desire is another facet of the red rose. In addition to beauty and passion, red roses also symbolize courage. The red rose celebrates the creative spirit of love.
The most famous meanings of the white rose arose from mythology. Many of these myths surround Aphrodite (or Venus to the Romans) as the Goddess of love. She sprang forth into life from the foaming sea, and where foam spilt to the ground, white roses sprung.  This and later myths about Aphrodite display the dual nature of love: purity and innocence represented by white roses; desire and sexual gratification by red ones. In one famous myth, Aphrodite runs to help her wounded lover Adonis and catches her flesh on the thorns of the white rose bush. Her blood, falling onto the bush, turns the roses red, symbolizing the way innocence and purity change to experience and motherhood.
The color white has always been synonymous with purity and virtue. And so, sincerity, purity, and chastity are some of the obvious meanings of a white rose. Sometimes called “the flower of light”, one of the meanings of white roses is everlasting love – love stronger than death, an eternal love, undying and all sustaining. White rose speaks of a love that is sustained more by loyalty, reverence and humility than by red-blooded passion. Nowadays, white rose is perfect for wedding decoration, bridal shower, baby shower.
By the 18th century the worldwide love of roses was in full swing, but they were only cultivated in shades of pink and white. At last, the elusive yellow rose was discovered growing wild in the Middle East, and the European love affair with yellow roses was born. The early yellow rose lacked the sweet scent for which the rose is now famous, but as cultivation methods were developed and refined, the beloved sweet-and-spicy rose scent was soon introduced and the yellow rose achieved all its optimistic and aromatic glory.
Yellow roses express joy, gladness, and friendship. They are given to new mothers, newlyweds, and graduates. Yellow roses are also good to celebrate new beginnings. The yellow rose within marriage implies sweet domesticity and familiar love. Personally, I do love yellow rose, not only because it’s good for so many occasions, but the bright color, which makes you feel warm and energetic.
Perhaps the most touching meaning of the pink rose can be found in the story of a mother’s ultimate love and devotion for her child. Legend says that when Mother Mary first saw her son Jesus walking up to Calvary Hill, struggling to carry the cross where he would eventually be nailed to, the first tear that slid down her cheeks landed on barren soil. Once the crowd began to thin out, the first perfect pink rose grew up from that single, precious tear.
There is nothing more touching than for a mother than to receive a bouquet of sweet pink roses as these clearly allude to the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Whether it’s her birthday or its Mother’s Day, pink roses are the perfect gift for her. Nowadays, pink roses are often seen in bridal arrangements, thank you or congratulations bouquets. An admiration for beauty, refinement and enduring grace is also what the pink rose connotes. The color pink also gives people a feeling of cute and lovely, which is also perfect for little girls.

The Story of Infinite Rose

When the flames of war raged to a small town in the southern Europe, an infatuated couple was about to part. The boy was so brave and determined that he was going to join the battle to defend his hometown and family. The girl was aware that her beloved boy was going to go through the baptism of blood and fire like a grown-up man. Both of them knew that once the boy left, he might never return home just like their fathers and brothers. Reluctant to talk about the future, they kissed goodbye with smiles. Holding their hands for so long a time, they were unwilling to let go. They knew their destinies were entirely up to the grace of God.

The boy left the girl with dewy roses just picked from the garden and a letter sealed with red wax. As agreed, the girl did not open the letter until the boy was completely out of sight. He wrote to her that when the last petal of these roses withered, it was time for her to forget him and embark on a new life. Unyieldingly, the girl held back her tears, put the bouquet of roses in the vase, and prayed to God with folded hands in the chest, every day…
